My approach blends the wisdom of the past with the needs of the present, honouring the techniques of classic design while incorporating modern innovation. By weaving together a deep appreciation for heritage with contemporary aesthetics, I create brands that are both meaningful and enduring, rooted in tradition yet forward-thinking.

Who you'll be creating with

I’m Becca, the artist and designer behind Sojourn & Soul, and the person who will be shaping your brand with you, from the first question to the final files.

I’ve spent the last six+ years refining not just how brands look, but how they feel to live inside. I think deeply before I begin, about meaning, intention, and what needs to be said, so that when it’s time to create, the work is streamlined and purposeful.

I’ve always worked this way, in fact I was the student who finished early in art class, not because I rushed, but because I could see the through-line before I touched the page.

That same approach guides my process now. The discernment happens up front, so the design can unfold decisively, without excess or second-guessing.

When you work with me, you’re not passed off to a team or moved through a system. This is a one-to-one collaboration. Thoughtful, focused, and held with care for both your business and the life surrounding it.

The process begins with the Brand Journal™, a deep dive discovery method I’ve created and refined over the past six years. Through this guided reflection, we unearth the inner world of your business and the essence of your vision, giving me all the threads needed to weave every visual and design choice with intention.

1. beginning

After your deposit has been paid and contract signed, we begin by selecting your brand day, the dedicated time to create your brand together.

2. The Brand Journal™

You’ll receive everything you need to complete the Brand Journal™, my carefully crafted process designed to illuminate your individuality, clarify your story, and guide visuals that reflect your story.

3. Creative direction

I compile your insights into a visual direction with a video walkthrough and send it over for your approval two weeks before your brand day.

4. Preparation

With the direction approved, I get to researching and assembling typography, colour palettes, illustrations, and all other visual elements uncovered in the discovery.

6. Delivery & support

Within a week, you’ll receive all brand elements in a Google Drive folder, along with your brand guide to help you confidently use your new identity. I remain available to answer questions and cheer you on from the sidelines as you bring your brand to life!

5. Brand Day

On the scheduled day, I weave these pieces together into a cohesive brand concept presentation and send it to you mid-day. Then we walk through the concept together, making revisions in real time until everything aligns perfectly.

That said, to make the most of this project, it’s important that you already have a clear sense of who you are, what your business values are, and a general idea of your ideal audience. The Brand Journal™ is an incredibly helpful guide, but it can only uncover what you’re willing to reflect on and share. Your effort is the starting point. The more thought you put into it, the stronger the resulting brand will be.

What matters most is not how long you’ve been in business, but whether you’re ready for a brand that is  deeply aligned with your vision.

The Heirloom Brand is intentionally focused.

Rather than offering everything at once, this experience concentrates on the essentials. The visual foundation your business needs to show up with confidence and cohesion.

This is often the right choice for women who value clarity, and longevity over excess. Additional elements (like brand patterns, print materials, etc) can always be added later, but a strong foundation changes how everything else unfolds.

You don’t need a polished narrative to begin. You just need honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to reflect. The language and visuals are shaped from there.

This is a collaborative experience, but it should not be an overwhelming one.

You will be asked to reflect, respond, and engage thoughtfully at key moments in each stage, particularly in the early discovery phase. From there, I handle the creative direction and execution with clarity and care.

The process is designed to feel steady and supported, not demanding.

*Photographers - I do not recommend booking during wedding season!

Once your brand is finalized, you’ll receive all files neatly organized, along with a brand guide to help you use everything with confidence.

I remain available after our project has ended to answer questions as you begin implementing, and many clients return later to expand their brand with additional elements, or website design, when the timing feels right.
